Harry Potter and the Unforgiven is a 5th year-year Harry/Ginny 'ship fic with with heavy angst, dark overtones, and adult themes. This is an AU sixth year story; all events up to the end of Order of the Phoenix are considered canonical.

SUMMARY: Year 6 AU. H/G; R/Hr. Sirius Black is dead, Lord Voldemort failed to learn the entirety of the Prophecy of his defeat, Dolores Umbridge was chased from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and Harry Potter departed once again for 4 Privet Drive. But just because school has ended for summer doesn't mean the war has.
Harry and Ginny must deal with unforseen consequences of the Chamber of Secrets while Fudge plots to control the Boy Who Lived and break the Order of the Phoenix. Fudge's machinations leave Harry cut off from the wizarding world and at the mercy of an out-of-control Vernon Dursley.
And while the wizarding world fights over the fate of the Boy Who Lived, Voldemort awakes forbidden, forgotten Lore to wage his war on the wizarding world.

UPDATE FROM THE AUTHOR:
10-24-06 - I shelved this story for awhile, but was recently convinced to keep posting it. I've revised and re-written about half what I have written, and am working on the rest. All the chapters on Fanfiction.net have been updated, but I haven't had a chance to do the HTMl for Wizardtales yet. I'll get to it soon enough.
STATUS:
15 Nov 07 - Even though I've not finished CH35, the huge outpouring of reviews has convinced me to post early! CH 19: From the Inside is now posted!
12 Nov 07 - I've posted CH 18: Voices in the Dark. I am currently working on the edit of CH 19: From the Inside and on writing CH 35: Called to Account, part I. The next chapter will be up in 3-5 days, depending on how fast I work.
Chapters 35-36 are what a lot of my readers have been waiting for - confrontations with the Ministry, Hermione's family, and maybe even the Dursleys! They'll both be pretty long, though!
